Andy Anderson

Interview done on 10/16/99

GM: What got you interested in pro wrestling?

AA: One of my uncles always watched wrestling when I was young and I took a liking to it. It was always hockey and wrestling!

GM: Who trained you in the art of pro wrestling?

AA: I think I had a good idea on a lot of the concepts, but a guy named Vance Nevada in Winnipeg, Canada was the one who broke me in.

GM: What promotions have you wrestled for in the past and what promotions do you wrestle for now?

AA: There's been a few, so I apologize to anyone I have forgotten! CWF, AWA, HARDCORE CANADA, IWA (Canada), IWA (Puerto Rico), WWF, WCW, BATTLEARTS, LLL, MCW, USWA, NAASW, KAW, WWC, NWA, MWA, IWA (Mid South), NWA OVW, and many others.

GM: How was the time you spent wrestling in Mexico recently?

AA: Mexico was great. I spent a total of 5 months there. I got to learn some lucha, some Spanish, and overall had a super time. Since then I've also spent some time in Puerto Rico and Japan which were also good.

GM: Bert Prentice mentioned your name as possibly being a guy who could get a developmental deal with the WWF in the near future, what is the situation on that?

AA: That's the first I've heard of that and I'm flattered. I did go to the WWF dojo last January but nothing came out of it in the short term. Of course that would be great, but for now, I'll just be patient and keep working away!

GM: What are your goals in pro wrestling?

AA: Short term would be to keep improving, learning and entertaining the masses. Long term would include being recognized as one of the best work wise and mic wise and of course to get the money that comes with it.

GM: What matches in your career are you most proud of?

AA: I had some good matches with both Edge and Christian before they were in the WWF, which were really good. I had a 28-minute match with Tracey Smothers in Georgetown, KY, which was great. My first match in Japan with Mochizuki and the majority of my matches with Chris Michaels in 1998 with MCW.

GM: What does your future in the NWA Nashville and NWA GA look like right now?

This time I'm only around for a short while. I'm really happy to be here. I have friends and acquaintances I've haven't seen or talked to and I love Nashville! I would seriously consider moving here in the future!

GM: Is there anything else you would like to add?

I'd like to thank everyone who's helped me in one way or another along the way as I "chase the dream." An extra big thanks to Vance Nevada, Mike Myers, Bart Sawyer, Debbie Combs, Brickhouse Brown, Reno Riggins, Tracey Smothers, Savio Vega and Victor Quinones.
