Point Iroquois Lighthouse

This lighthouse is located on Whitefish Bay not far from Bay Mills. It is owned and managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Station was established in 1855. The first tower was 45 feet and torn down in 1870. To be replaced by the present tower. It stands 65 feet. Was first lit in 1871. Automated in 1962 and deactivated in 1971.
You may climb the 72 steps to the top for a wonderful view of Lake Superior. This is a beautiful light and a must see if you're in the area.

The museum and gift shop are open from May 15 through October 15.
