The Best Friend

The best friend I ever had Smiled right at me, And made my feelings soar, Making me so free. She filled my heart with love, Right before my eyes. And without a word- Took away my sad sighs. The best friend I ever had, Was, of course, sweet you. That's why you'll always be Wonderful through and through!

A Dream Within a Dream

Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow: You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand- How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep-while I weep! O God! can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream?

All I Can't Say

There's so much I can't say when I look into your eyes. I'm worried you'll reject me and hurt my foolish pride. Each day this love grows stronger, but I could never show. I'd hold you for a lifetime, if you would let me in. I'd love you like no other, but you don't understand. Every time I see you your holding on to her. The pain is like a knife cutting deep into my soul. So I'll dream of us together, of just how it could be. And all that you are will remain a silent part of me
