'Similarities: 1. More than two people mentioned large bodies of water. This of course is nothing very significant - but it does indicate that the person knew they were physically seperated from the Sphinx by large bodies of water and managed to at least visualize what should be expected to be encountered on a trip to it. Two people mentioned losing forward motion while travelling across this large expanse of water. 2. It seems like about four people mentioned a very intense man with light hair and beard. But the descriptions of the man vary in some ways - for instance, I didn't give a good description of the man (though he matched with another description I read after the fact); his age and race is not clearly defined (I saw him as being around his 50's - others describe him at around 30 or 50)...We need to be a little more detailed in our descriptions when we meet someone like that. Probably become a little more serious ourselves. Those meetings sound important. Let's not take it lightly that we are becoming a group of travellers that span the globe with a predetermined goal and that there may be adepts who have taken notice of our activities. This trully is the first serious effort of its kind. 3. At least two mentions of getting kind of stuck in a city and not being able to continue on to the Sphinx. Personally, I was very happy to see that someone else had the same problem :-) Since this was one of the people that also had a bit of a problem crossing the ocean, perhaps we are on to something here - if only to suggest that we both need to find a better method of travel and avoid the tourist traps :-) 4. Nobody saw the hotdog/donut stand - even though it was mentioned several times before the main experiment. This indicates *something* about 'suggestion'. I don't know what... but something... 5. On the other hand, I did see one or two people mention that they saw things that were mentioned in posts previous to their experience. One said that they saw a man desperately travelling to the Sphinx and carrying a pillbox - saying that he would get a great reward if/when he made it. I haven't been in alt.dreams.lucid for a long time, so I decided to go there today just to see their comments on this experiment. I found a post with a method for LD in that a person deprives themselves of a certain pleasure until they achieve a goal (of lucid dreaming). Then when they get to this goal, they get the 'reward' of permitting themselves the pleasure that they had denied themselves. Was the experience of seeing a person carrying baggage with them toward their goal of the Sphinx 'suggestion' caused by a previous post... or did he really see someone attempting to get a 'pleasure-for-success-reward'? 6. One person claimed to have left a blue vase at one of the paws - up in the air. One person claimed to have seen a vase and another claimed to have seen a hawk (statue of a hawk?) in that approximate position. 7. One person claimed to have left a glowing Polish flag at the meeting place. Another person claimed to have seen a bright fire at the same approximate location. However, my understanding is that the flag of Poland is red and white while the fire was described as being greenish in color. 8. Sounds like at least two people ran into Jean while she was there...' Bart 9. 'One person mentioned a "Ken doll" type person, and I remember a "robot" dummy waiter. It was kind of funny to see someone else posted a similar "person."' Claire OBE Main Page
