My full name is Poteev
Igor Valentinovich. I was born in 1959 in Russia,
Perm, where I have been living up to now. I am an artist-sculptor.
I have higher techical education. I didn’t attend any art college,
I am a self-taught person. In my childhood I always liked to make
things of wood. Later I started carving on wood and coining copper.
In 1987 I started seriously doing sculpturing. I began learning portreting art,
clay modelling. I was interested in plaster casting and made 7 art works
in the style of classical realism. But realism couldn’t give me full satisfaction
in my creative works. I wanted to create something different and works of N.A.
Silisa "Gracefullnesses" served me as a spur to realisation of my ideas.
My new style was named "Modern". I created 16 compositions in this style.
They reflect plastic, grace, movements which form a shape of woman. They
attract ny their forms wheted plastic. Shine of metal creates an unforgettable
image or even a certain character in confession. I was advanced by all these
factors and yet something inexplicable. Some workes combind realism and
surrealism. At the moment I have a collection of 30 art works, e.g. some piecec
which haven’t been embodied in material yet.
