"Hear O' Israel, HaShem is our G-d, HaShem alone"

Isaiah 11:1-2

The missionaries will say that Isaiah 11:1-2 The BRANCH is defined as a root out of Jesse and as the Messiah, the anointed one. They conclude, therefore, that Jesus "must" be the Messiah.

The Reply is that, yes, the Messiah will be of the house of David. But, as I pointed out before, Joseph was said not to be Jesus' father, so Jesus is not of the house of David. Additionally, it is not sufficient to be of the house of David to be the Messiah. One must also fulfill all of the major Messianic prophecies. Jesus fulfilled none of the major Messianic prophecies. (see also, order of events in the messianic age).
