"Hear O' Israel, HaShem is our G-d, HaShem alone"

Psalm 88

The missionaries will say that all of Psalm 88 is the story of the last mortal day of the Messiah as he became the bearer of "our sins". They will say that Luke 22:39-44 shows how Jesus fulfilled this.

The Reply is: Note that verse 16 says "From my youth I have been afflicted and near death; I suffer Your terrors wherever I turn" I does not seem to me that Jesus has been near death since he was a little boy. Note also, that the author of this Psalm feels that he has been rejected by G-d, that G-d is hiding His face (verse 15). The Targum explains that this suffering is related to Israel in captivity.
