The entire Vaudreuil-Soulanges area has a long and interesting history, situated as it was on the immigration and transportation routes to and from Upper Candaa and Lower Canada; and settled early by the French, then the Scots, Irish and English.

A notice from the museum informs us that they have have added to their already considerable Library and Archives, the genealogical and archival resources of the Centre d'Histoire La Presqu'ile [Ile Perrot region] "Researchers can consult the Centre's collection of memoirs., maps, old photos and slides Tuesday, Wednesday and Sundays, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Among the collections are documents pertaining to the history of the Soulanges Canal, Dorion families and the lives of seigneurial families.

Use of the research library is free to members; non-members $3.00 and students $2.00
