Odis Jackson Myrick, a son of James "Jim" Myrick and Etta Davis Myrick was born August 28, 1907 in Carterville, now Petal, Forrest County, MS. Odis was a farmer and educator, teaching in various schools in Pearl River County MS. Mom told me they married in Stone County MS 30 March 1934, but the record of their marriage is in Pearl River County Mississippi. Velma Broadus, a daughter of Edward Randolph Broadus and Miranda Bond Broadus, was born in Pearl River County MS 02 August 1913. Velma was a homemaker, she devoted her life to caring for children. First her own, then extended family members, friends and grandchildren. Odis died in Pearl River Co. MS on 13 May 1986. Velma died in Pearl River Co. MS on 03 March 1998. Odis and Velma are buried in Pearl River Co. MS Odis and Velma were the parents of eight children.
