Real name: Jack Viera
Hometown: Millbrae, CA
Email addy: jackkv@pacbell.net
Personal Bio:
Have two jobs at the moment. I work for Franklin Templeton during the week, and on the weekends I work at KATD-AM (990 on your dial) in Concord. Still chasing that elusive sports radio gig.

Favorite Giants Player:
Barry Bonds because he's the best player I've seen in my lifetime. Rod Beck because he's a class act and a stand-up guy. Tony Gwynn because he's a great hitter and a great person.
Favorite all time player:
Have to narrow it down t four: 1. Kevin Mitchell because he gave the Giants of the late '80s style and muscle. 2. Trevor Wilson, because, well, because we look alike, which is as good a reason as any. 3. Glenallen Hill, because no one else did. I judge favorite players on more than their ability (or inability, in G-Hill's case) to catch the routine fly ball. At any rate, the G-Man will always have a fan in me and I hope he has a great year in the Emerald City. 4. Andre Dawson, for the same reasons I listed in regards to Gwynn.
Favorite Giant/Baseball memories:
So many to think of for a team that has been mediocre over the period of time I've been following them. In general, just being out at Candlestick as a kid with my mom, dad, and brother. I enjoyed the games, but I wasn't old enough to REALLY care how the Giants did. If I have to pick ONE specific moment, it would have to be Rod Beck striking out Greg Vaughn last year to clinch the NL West. It was the crowning achievement for my favorite Giants team.(Although it was not the best team, but that made it even sweeter.)
GVL signing date:
Sometime in April of 1997. The day Gary Sheffield lost the ball in the sun that gave the Giants an improbable win.

Have been an avid Giants fan since 1978. Have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. As a fan who is not as optimistic as most, I've never felt better about the "state of the Giants" than I do right now. Dusty Baker is as good a manager as you will find, Brian Sabean looks like he really has an eye for talent, and the management team is solid. With PacBell Park on the horizon, the best is yet to come for the Giants and for us fans.

Favorite Giants Player:
Barry Bonds
Favorite all time player:
My all-time favorite Giant is Willie Mays. Although I'm tempted to say Johnnie Lemaster...

Favorite Giant/Baseball memories:
One of myst Giant memories was when Joe Morgan hit the home run that knocked the Dodgers out of first place, and subsequently out of the playoffs.
GVL signing date:May 1997
I have made many friends there and still go there to chat, although not as often as I used to. The wonderful people at .gov do not particularly like their employees going to chat rooms. Prior to working at Sandia, I was able to chat all day, and I believe that I still hold the record for hours chatting in a regular work week.

The Randyman
Real name: Randy Gordon
Hometown: Kansas City. I live in Ben Lomond, CA.
Email addy: therandyman@giantsfan.com
Personal Bio:
Greetings! I'm 41 and a father to one 3 yr old Jr. Giant fan. His name is Ryland and I believe I'm doing an admirable job of indoctrinating him as such. We live in the Santa Cruz mountains among the redwoods. I work in Santa Cruz as a billing technician for Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems. I was born a Kansas City Athletics fan, grew up in the Midwest listening to Monte Moore on my little transistor radio on hot summer nights. At sixteen, my family moved to the Bay Area. Attended Cal Poly (SLO) '75-'78. It was really during those college days that I planted my roots in the confines of Candlestick Park. The SF/LA rivalry truly became clear to me in that Central Coast town, and I am a lifetime fan. The strike soured me real bad, Matt's season dashed. The Thrill was gone. I kept alive the small hope that someday Matt would have another chance. We know how that ended up. BUT...last seasons '97 Giants team impressed me so much, by the end of the season I was a believer once again! I think that's the magic of baseball. Now I try to see or hear every single game! I guess I'm still suffering from pennant race fever! See you in the GVL and GO GIANTS!!

Favorite Giants Player:
JT Snow Jeff Kent Brian Johnson
Favorite all time player:
Campy Campaneris

Favorite Giant/Baseball memories:
I've got a real lousy memory for specific games. And it seems most of the games I've ever attended, we lost. (I am not a jinx, I am not a jinx) ;-) But every time we beat the Dodgers was a great moment for me. Mainly last season's defining moment when we knocked them out! And the Friday night game which was our first meeting so far this season, and MY first 'complete' game in the GVL!!
GVL signing date:July 1998.
