Klonoa is an action/platform game with a bit of a twist: the graphics are 3D, but Klonoa is controlled on a set 2D path, much like Pandemonium. Also, unlike most platform games, Klonoa has an added control option: you an pick up your enemies and use them to hit other enemies, or boost you to a platform you couldn't reach before. This adds alot to the game play, because you always have to find new ways to use that option in a puzzle.

Klonoa's music is nice and cutesy, or ominous and scary, depending on the part of the game you're at. All the levels fit well with the corresponding music, and nothing is overly annoying. It's not the best in the video game, but it works.

The graphics are bright and colorful, and really help to show that Phantomile is a dream world turning into nightmares. The characters are all fairy well animated, and the FMV scenes at the beging and end are beautiful (it's Namco, afterall.)

Anyone who thinks this game is easy, just cause it looks like it's for kids, is dead wrong! Sometimes you need perfect coordination and timing to jump, and sometimes double, or triple jump, using bad guys as your unstationary trampoline. It's not an easy task, but the challenge can be fun. Also, you wouldn't expect such a cute game to go into issues of death, and lost friends, but it does, and it does it well enough to make you cry sometimes.

I think Klonoa is one of the best platform games out on the Playstation, and should not be missed by fans of the genre. It's a perfect blend of wonderful graphics, good storyline, and a tough challenge.
