There's a tale attached (forgive the pun) to the doll in this picture. I was never much for dolls, preferred meccano, but this was a quite expensive doll bought for me by an aunt and uncle. It was double jointed, had a wax body and china head with real hair. Well, I decided it needed a bath one day, and of course used HOT water. Naturally enough, the body melted and my aunt never forgave me.
