I live in Minnesota, in a house that was built in 1917. It's a huge house, with the old doors and hardwood floors. The house is not scary in the least, but I have had quite a few experiences since we moved in. Even my Marine husband has admitted to a couple of experiences of his own! He's a major skeptic, so for him to admit to anything like this is a big deal.

The very first experience belongs to my youngest daughter. She was 7 at the time, and we had just moved into the house. I was in the bathroom and she was in the living room. Suddenly, she burst into the bathroom, looking white and very shaken. She said she saw a "white, tornadoey looking thing" go past her and around the corner. I looked all over the house mainly to comfort her, but I felt like something was there. I didn't see anything at that time.

The second experience was mine...I was sitting on my bed and the door was closed. I heard this little voice say "mommy, are you in there?". Thinking it was my youngest daughter, I said "yes, you can come in". You know kids...they will come barreling in! But nothing happened. Once more, I said she could come in. Nothing. So I got the willies, and went downstairs. There were the kids and my husband sitting on the couch watching tv! They looked at me funny when I asked if anyone had come upstairs. They had been there the whole time!

My husband heard the little girl's voice as well. He got up to take the dog out, and as he reached for the door, he heard "mommy, are you in there?"...well, he threw open the door but no one was there, and the kids were sound asleep. We have seen a blue light emanating from the upstairs hallway a couple of times. Even though this may sound strange, I am not afraid. I know it's a little girl, and I feel so sorry for her. I've heard her in the playroom late at night playing with the toys. It sounds just like a child trying to play quietly! I've felt her sit beside me on the couch, and she has even played with my hair once! I have discovered that if I leave my bedroom door cracked, she doesn't do anything. As soon as I close my bedroom door, something happens. I suppose she wants to be sure she can see me. Maybe she thinks I am her mother. But when she asks "mommy, are you in there?" she sounds so desperate and scared...

I don't know the history of the house, but I am working on it. I feel she can't be any older than 5 at the most, maybe younger. I also think I saw her one night while I was in the office. I saw a purple haze out of the corner of my eye, and when I turned, it looked like the figure of a small girl with long hair in and old fashioned dress. I didn't know what to do, so I just said, "Hi, sweetheart". That seemed to put her at ease because she just faded away. My husband has admitted to hearing footsteps and seeing the blue light as well. There have been times where he feels he is being watched. But I just tell him it's our little girl ghost, and not to worry. She's sweet in a sad way, and not frightening in the least.

I hope you enjoy this story. BluBell30
