Personal Experience: The haunted house I grew up in

In the past 7 years that I have lived in my house, numerous things have happened. The first that I can remember was when I was about 14. I remember feeling really sick after dinner and throwing up at least three times. I couldn't get to sleep so I was reading. All of a sudden, a lady wearing a beautiful purple dress walked into my room, picked me up, and sat me on her lap. As I lay there she began rocking me and I slowly drifted off to sleep.

I know that my house is not haunted because we are the first family to live in it. Also, I've looked into the history of the land it was built on and have not found anything unusual. However, I do not feel comfortable staying alone at night. About two months ago, just after my birthday, I woke up screaming because I had a nightmare. I turned my head and between my bed and the wall was a man bound in chains surrounded by a bluish light. I screamed for about 5 minutes but nobody seemed to hear me. I know that I didn't imagine this episode because my dog was sleeping on the bed that night and when I started screaming, she began barking. Yet, when I asked my parents the next day, they had no recollection of hearing anything.

Just last week, I woke up in the middle of the night and heard voices speaking right by the head of my bed. I have seen a white figure walk into the kitchen and into the door that leads to the pantry. Nobody was home but myself and the dogs and *suprise* nothing was there when I went to check. In addition to these incidents, I have heard knocking from the inside of my closet door. These happened for two nights in a row and then stopped. Nobody besides my fiancee and myself have ever felt anything malicious in this house. Luckily, I only have one year left before I leave for college.

If anyone has any insights I would appreciate it if you would share them with me. My e-mail is ladymuskrat@hotmail.com RAIN DROP

Rain Drop,

If you have any other good stories of things that happened, please email them to me. I'm sure many of us would like to know more.

It's a lot more common than you would ever think to live in a "new" house and yet it's haunted. I had a similar experience in the house I grew up in. Now quite as dramatic as your experiences, but weird things going bump in the night were a common occurence.

Don't let the ghosts get you.... Ghostly Guy
