In all actuality, I hate to give away too much regarding this book due to its recent arrival. Enough people who loved Watership Down may have not yet read this book for me to feel comfortable giving away its secrets. Still, a most basic outlay is provided. The book Tales From... is not really a sequel to Watership Down. The original novel was closed enough at the end that really no further plot line is necessary to complete it. Instead, it is a collection of short stories. Section One of the book gives additional tales of El-ahrairah, including The Fox in the Water and The Hole in the Sky , both mentioned briefly in the novel when the companions rest on their way to Efrafa. As well, two rather nonsensical stories are told to provide a glimpse into what rabbits talk about when not relating tales of their prince. Section Two of Tales From... provides even more stories of the Prince with a Thousand Enemies. These are stories of the adventures El-ahrairah goes through as he returns from the lair of the Black Rabbit as told in El-ahrairah and The Black Rabbit of Inlé . Section Three gives insight into what happened to the warren on Watership down between the times of the Efrafan seige and the following spring. Included are stories about Hyzenthlay taking over as the warren's Chief Rabbit for a time, the arrival of a strange rabbit who reeks of man and as such by rabbit law must be put to death, the overcrowding of the warren, and Campion's attempts to restart Wide Patrols within Efrafa.
