Part 27

Mike suggested they form search groups right away. "Okay!" Micky shouted. "Who wants to come with me?!"

"ME!!" cried Gleeby enthusiastically. Micky grinned at her.

Janine joined them excitedly. "Whoaaaaaaaaow-roog-a-later!!!" she cried.

Mike rolled his eyes. "YOU three, TOGETHER?! Good luck getting anything done!!" Gleeby, Micky and Janine just looked at each other and grinned eeeevilly.

"Okay", Mike continued, "Alison and Christine, you guys go with Davy. Jenna", he smiled at her "can come with me." Jenna giggled happily, then nervously.

"Only a search party, only a search party..." she muttered to herself.

"What did you say?" Mike asked.

"Um... I said... when we find them, can we have a party?" Mike grinned.

"Sure thing, shotgun." And they were off.

"Taxi!" Jim called. A taxi pulled up right away.

"Wow, what service!" said Lynne.

"Duh, Lynne!" said Mimi. "He's Jim Morrison!"

Lynne grinned. "Right. That's true, I know!" They all piled into the taxi.

"So, girls, where do you want to go?" Jim asked. "It's not everyday I get to hang out with four beautiful girls." Calli rolled her eyes, and the girls exchanged smiles. Jim's statement was hardly believable- he was a rock god!!!

Kit spoke up. "Well, Jim... I think we'd better find our hotel, to let everyone know we're all right..." Jim grinned.

"Oh yeah! Of course!" he said. "Now, do you know what the name of the hotel is?" The girls looked at each other.

"Not exactly", said Calli.

"But we know it's *not* Holiday Inn!" cried Lynne. The girls moaned. "Sorry, sorry!" she said.

Meanwhile at the hotel, Kat was sitting cross legged on the floor of the room, nervously braiding her hair to avoid sitting idly. She stopped suddenly and sprang to her feet, too anxious to keep going. "Peter!" she cried. "I'm so worried about them! They're lost all alone in England!" She started to cry a little. Peter, reading his copy of the Tao Te Ching, smiled at her reassuringly, making her forget for a moment that anything was wrong in the world, as Peter's smiles tend to do.

He walked over to her. "It'll be all right.." he said soothingly. "Dry your tears." He wrapped his arms around Kat, warming her in his embrace, and gave her a kiss. Kat suddenly felt a little better...

Janine, Gleeby and Micky walked down the block west of the hotel. Janine and Gleeby were singing at the top of their lungs in mock British accents, "JOHN JACOB JINGLEHEIMER SCHMIDT! THAT'S MY NAME TOO! WHENEVER WE GO OUT, THE PEOPLE ALWAYS SHOUT, THERE GOES JOHN JACOB JINGLEHEIMER SCHMIDT, DA DA DA DA DA DA DA DAAAAA!!!" and getting the funniest looks from everyone they met. Micky, who had been laughing at them the whole time, stopped suddenly, causing Janine and Gleeby to fall in a heap on top of each other. They giggled and got up.

"What was *that* for?" Janine asked Micky.

He said, "I just realised.... they could be anywhere. I mean, they could be searching around this whole time for us..." His voice trailed off.

"You're right", Gleeby frowned. They all sat down on the curb, wondering what to do next.

Mike looked at Jenna. "Okay, shotgun, where do you think they could have gone?"

Jenna thought for a moment. "Well... she said. "Why don't we go back to the place we lost them at? They might still be in the same area."

Mike grinned. "Hey! Great idea! Why didn't I think of that?" He put his arm around Jenna and gave her a little squeeze.

Jenna bit her lip. "Um, I don't know..." she said. She smiled at Mike, though a little nervous. 'Phyllis' she thought to herself. 'Phyllis and Christian, Phyllis and Christian...'

Davy, Alison and Christine were searching at a nearby park when a man with a camera ran up to them. "Whatta scoop!" he said. "Monkee Man Escorts Loving Girlfriends in England Park!" He snapped about ten pictures quicker than any of them could do anything, and ran off.

Christine and Alison were appalled. "Davy! We're not your girlfriends!" Alison said.

"I'm sorry! I can't believe that just happened." added Christine.

Davy just laughed. "Tha's okay, girls. Don't you know 'ow many times tha's 'appened to me?" They looked at Davy and laughed.

"Yeah, I guess so..." said Christine. She whispered to Alison worriedly, "It's a good thing too. I don't want anyone thinking that we... I mean, this could cause some problems... we're not...from here!"

Alison looked at her. "Yeah, we're from the States..." Christine shook her head. "OH!" said Alison. "We're from the 90s!" Christine nodded.

Davy looked at them curiously. "Is something wrong, girls?"

They smiled and shook their heads. "No, nothing!" said Alison. "Let's keep looking."

Jim looked at the girls. "So, have any idea of the name of your hotel?", he asked.

"No..." they said. Kit spoke up. "But we could find out! That is, we're staying here with some people...." she trailed off. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to let Jim know who they were with. But before she could say anything, Jim spoke up.

"Well, who is it?" he asked, smiling his gorgeous Morrison smile. They couldn't say anything but... the truth.

"Um, well..." spoke up Mimi.

"The Monkees." Lynne and Calli said together.

Jim looked confused. "The Monkees?" Then he laughed. "Ha ha! Now, really. Who are you with?" They looked at him seriously.

"Really!" Lynne said. "The Monkees!"

Jim frowned. "All right, then...this is going to be interesting." The girls just looked at each other curiously and sighed. Roll up for the Mystery Tour...
