A brave young girl who went by the name of Wisp, she was brought to a desolate world full of gloom and darkness, and was told to search for the magic color belt and the sphere of light. And so she started off to the dark tower off in the distance. Along the way she met a small white sprite named Twink. Later, she found a beautiful white horse frozen on a cliff which she released from the ice - the horse Starlight, who claims to be the most magnificent horse in all the universe (at times I agree) . With her newly made friends Wisp faced the perils of a world. In a cave the group found a small baby, and Wisp found the magic color belt shaped like a rainbow, which revealed to her that the seven color kids (one for each color of the rainbow) had been banished. So off she went to rescue them. But the dark lord sent his servants - Murky Dismal and Lurky - to deal with the intruders. Soon the trio were trapped between a chasm and Murky's gloom cloud. At the last moment Starlight leaped across the chasm. . . and there they found. . .Red Butler - the first color kid! They found that he was in the color mine, where color crystals were mined to be made into star sprinkles, and Twink found some of the star sprinkles. The trio left to rescue the remaining color kids, and one by one, with bravery and a little cleverness, they found all but one of the color kids. Unfortunately, Lurky stumbled across the little baby and the villians sped away with their prize. Wisp, Twink, and Starlight followed them to the tower. There they found Shy Violet, the last color kid. Starlight took her to the rest of the color kids at the mine where they were to wait until a signal was given. Meanwhile, Wisp followed the wails of the baby to the top and as she ascended the steps the top of the tower glowed with color - the signal the the others. Starlight and the color kids ran to help. Wisp reached the top and there. . . stood the dark master with the child in his hand. The baby shone with radiance and Wisp realized the baby was the sphere of light. The dark master towered over Wisp. Starlight cried out and jumped to help her from a nearby tower of stone, but he missed the edge and fell. But as Wisp fell to her knees a glorious rainbow emerged from her magic belt and Starlight landed on it - and began to fly along the rainbow! At the top Wisp stood, and with a true heart and the magic rainbow defeated the dark lord, and the gloom fell away and revealed a beautiful, colorful world. Wisp was named Rainbow Brite, and she and her friends were given the task of keeping hope and color alive, for Murky and Lurky had escaped and would be back. . .
