What a great time we all had surprising Mama on her 84th birthday. Cheryl got the ball rolling by suggesting we have a sort of reunion at the lake since Mama has mentioned so many times how much she misses them.

None of us can believe it, but we managed to pull off the surprise party without anyone dropping the fatal hint that usually alerts the "surprisee."

Needless to say, Mama was speechless (Really!) when she pulled into the driveway and headed down toward the lake. She admits thinking she would turn around when she saw all the cars, but we're glad she didn't.

Besides many in the family, there were close friends and distant cousins attending, even Uncle "Red" came in spite of the problems he has getting around on uneven ground.

We all enjoyed it tremendously, and the food was delicious.

Since Mama hates for us to give her gifts, Cheryl suggested we all write down a special memory we have of her and share it at the party. Some were spoken orally and didn't get included here, but anyone who has something to add can send it to me and have it posted.

Thanks, Cheryl, for a grand idea!
