A Brief History Of S.J.K.(C) Hai Ping, Bagan Sungai Burung, 45300 Sungai Beasr, Selangor Darul Ehsan, West Malaysia.
 

S.J.K.(C) Hai Ping was built in 1947 with the purpose of providing educational opportunities for the generations to come. The people of Bagan Sungai Burung cooperated in building the school. For the initial stage, the school only consisted of one classroom.

Ten years later, the existing classroom could not accomodate the increase in the numbers of pupils. With the cooperation and contributions from the people, a sum of RM19512.34 was collected.

In 1957, two block of new building consisting four classrooms and four teacher's quarters were built.

In November 1965, a basketball court was built in front of the school. This was through the efforts of the people here by transporting rocks and sand using boats.
The basketball court became a place of recreation for the people in this fishing village.

In 1967, two more classroom were built with an allocation of RM8000 from the government. With six classrooms, the school was able to conduct all lessons in the morning.

After 30 years, during the seventies, the school was facing a serious problem in the archictural structure; pillars were slanting, putting the school building in danger of collapsing, endangering the lives of teachers and pupils. The PTA of the school made an effort to repair the wear, but due to the seriousness of the problem, it was not successful. The school appealed to Jabatan Pendidikan Selangor (JPS) to rebuild the school as soon as possible. Owning to the lack of resources, the efforts were not fruitful.

In 1982, JKR Sabak Bernam identified S.J.K.(C) Hai Ping as a 'Dangerous Building', until for occupancy. Based on this, the PTA submitted a memorandum to the then Deputy Education Ministers YB Datuk Chan Siang Sun (Deceased), YB Datuk Tan Tiong Hong, YB Datin Rosemary Chong and YB Dato Seri Dr. Ling Liong Sik. Unfortunately, all these appeals were unsuccessful.

In September 1987, articles about the 'Endangered' school appeared in the newspaper. This attracted the attention of the public. On 6th July 1988, the then Deputy Education Minister YB En. Woon See Chin paid a visit to the school to inspect the conditions of the school. After the visit, he promised to allocate a sum of RM50,000 for the building of four new classrooms.

The school board and PTA felt yhat four classroom were not enough. They solicited for donations from the people of Bagan Sungai Burung. With this, an additional classroom, an office and seven teachers' quarters were completed.

On 1st. October 1988, the new building was officially used. The teachers' quarters were also completed and utilised on 1st. January 1989. The then Member of Parliament YB Tuan Haji Hussien Bin Taib contributed RM2,500 on 15th May 1989 for the building of a Badminton Court. On 1st. July 1989, a bicycle shed was built a contribution of RM1,000 from YB En. Abu Samah, then a member of the Selangor Legislative Assembly.
