Donna's Review of Snowed In

Track 1 : Merry Christmas Baby

REVIEW :

This is definitely one of the best songs on the album. It sounds really nice, and Tay's voice sounds a lot better now that he's just about through with the voice changing thing. In this song, though, Ike and Zac don't really have very good parts. They get to "Da da da" or "Do do do" a lot, and sometimes they even get to "Na na na"! Pretty exciting. But that's about all that's bad about it, except that it kinda drags on at the end.

Donna's rating : ****

Track 2 : What Christmas Means to Me

REVIEW :

Giving Zac lead on this song was definitely a good idea. He sounds fabulous, and too adorable. The song itself is also awesome. Very upbeat, good lyrics, everything a song needs to be great. Although Zac tends to yell instead of sing, it sounds all right in this song.

Donna's rating : *****

Track 3 : Little Saint Nick

REVIEW :

This is not one of my favorite songs on the album. Nothing against Hanson. I've just never been too fond of this song. The guys sound good singing it, and Ike does a good job on lead, but I would have much rather the guys replace this song with a different Christmas song. Oh well.

Donna's rating : ***

Track 4 : At Christmas

REVIEW :

One of the few Hanson originals on this album, this song is really good. Very Christmasy. Isaac has lead, and he sounds fabulous. Although he has some trouble enunciating. Half the time when he sings, the words all jumble into a weird sounding sentence. (i.e. - Family nestled by the fire : it sounds more like familyneslbythfire.) Work on that Ike.

Track 5 : Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

REVIEW :

This song is pretty decent in its entirety. Taylor has lead, and he sounds pretty good. But once again, Isaac and Zac are deprived of having parts that are actually more than the background. All we hear from these two is "Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas......Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas" and "Baby please come home" while Taylor takes over the song. Granted they sound good, but would it really have been that bad to let them jump in at some points and actually SING? But overall, the song is pretty good.

Donna's rating : ****

Track 6 : Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree

REVIEW :

Giving Zac lead on this song was not the best idea in the world. Taylor or Isaac would have probably made the song sound better. Not that Zac was bad, it's just that his voice didn't mesh well with this song. Although his "Come on sax boy!" and "Merry Christmas!" was absolutely adorable.

Donna's rating : ***

Track 7 : Christmas Time

REVIEW :

This is definitely one of my favorite songs on this album. Another Hanson original, this song is really sweet, and has really good lyrics. But once again, the guys need to learn how to enunciate. The line "In our hearts" sounds a little too much like "In Ohio" for my liking.

Donna's rating : *****

Track 8 : Everybody Knows the Claus

REVIEW :

Whatever it was that possessed the guys to write this song is beyond me. This song is even worse than Look at You, if that's even possible. The song is basically saying that Santa is fat, and that he eats a lot. Let's just hope this song never reaches Santa's ears, or else a certain trio won't be getting any presents next Christmas.

Track 9 : Run Rudolph Run

REVIEW :

This song is not one of my favorites. It's actually quite humorous though. If Isaac doesn't annunciate, then he annunciates too much. It was very funny to hear him go from "familyneslbythfire" (At Christmas) to get-ah, wet-ah, and jet-ah. And it was very entertaining to have Ike "Kick it one time" for us, and tell Tay to "Kick one for Christmas baby". Okay.... But Tay's keyboard solo, and Ike's guitar solo were amazing.

Donna's review : ***

Track 10 : Silent Night Medley

REVIEW :

This song is DEFINITELY the best one on this album, in my opinion anyway. The guys harmony is fabulous, and the three songs chosen for the medley were really good choices. O Holy Night sounded great, and when Taylor added his own lines at the end, (i.e. - "Look at that star in the sky" and "Jesus was born"), it totally added to the song. Silent Night sounded great as well, and although it is a difficult song to sing, the guys sounded fabulous. O Come All Ye Faithful on here is probably the best version I have ever heard. Overall, this is one amazing song, and the highlight of this album.

Donna's rating : *****

Track 11 : White Christmas

REVIEW :

This song itself sounded good, but I didn't particularly care for how they made it sound like they are singing on a record. It sounded kinda weird. The best part of this song happens about 1 minute after the song ends. A little kid (Mac?) asks "What's this?" and Ike replies "It's a record player", and the kid says, "Cool! Watch this", and proceeds to scratch the record. Very very cute
