Sakurambo, or Cherry (as he likes to be called), is a weird Buddhist priest, who pops up frequently from out of nowhere.
He is a weird little priest, who lives in a tent in a vacant lot, among many stray cats. His favourite subject, seems to be Ataru, with all of the bad luck, that Ataru has, always seems to keep him busy.
Cherry, is disliked by almost everyone in the series, especially Ataru. Even his niece, Sakura despises him.
Cherry, is a little mooch, who always bums free meals from, Ataru's parents. He also has a very gluttonous appetite.
Sakurambo, means Cherry, but it can also mean deranged priest.
