Our Savior died that we can everlasting life

It was the saddest day in the history of mankind! Jesus had just been wrongly accused and given a sentence of death by crucification. Knowing His ultimate destiny, He did not resist. But, as He hung upon the cross all of God's creation reacted to His death. "And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man. And all the people that came together to that sight, beholding the things which were done, smote their breasts, and returned. And all his acquaintance, and the women that followed him from Galilee, stood afar off, beholding these things. And, behold, there was a man named Joseph, a counsellor; and he was a good man, and a just: (The same had not consented to the counsel and deed of them;) he was of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews: who also himself waited for the kingdom of God. This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a sepulchre that was hewn in stone, wherein never man before was laid. And that day was the preparation, and the sabbath drew on. And the women also, which came with him from Galilee, followed after, and beheld the sepulchre, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested the sabbath day according to the commandment." (Luke 23:44-56)

Because He gave His life as a sacrifice for sin all mankind can be reconciled with God. Have you made a decision to spend eternity with God? If you have confessed your sins your destiny with God is assured. But, if you have not made a commitment and pass on without confessing your sins you are doomed for eternal death and hell.

To be saved, reconciled with God, simply ask the Lord to forgive you of your sins. Below are a few points that may help you find the way to salvation:

The First Step...
First, you must believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and the only one who can save you from sin, and that God loves you inspite of your sin. "For God so loved the world (you and me) that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6

"For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ." I Timothy 2:5

All Have Sinned...
...just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin; in this way death came to all men, because all have sinned... Romans 5:12

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

For the wages (payment) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. Romans 6:23

Repent...
This means changing your mind about your condition. Now you agree that you are a sinner and that Jesus suffered and died on the cross to free you from that sin.

God…commands all people everywhere to repent. Acts 17:30

But unless you repent you too will perish. Luke 13:5

Ask The Lord For Forgiveness...

Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. Acts 16:31 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13

...if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord", and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 1:10

Example Prayer Asking (speaking) For Forgiveness:
Father, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and was my substitute when He died on the cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Lord and Saviour and ask you to come into my life and dwell in my heart. I thank you for the forgiveness of my sins and the gift of salvation and eternal life with you, because of your merciful grace. In Jesus name I pray. Amen."

A prayer for forgiveness can be short, for example "Lord forgive me a sinner." Jesus forgave a man in the Bible that spoke these words. The most important thing about asking for forgiveness is that your prayer must be preceded by God's call and be sincere.
