The mission of the USS LOWRY (DD-770) ASSOCIATION is to preserve the memory of a great fighting ship of the U. S. Navy and continue the comradship of the men who sailed upon her. As the LOWRY served our country in three wars, our shipmates span three generations, but we are united by one common experience. In the words of Oliver Wendell Holmes: "In our youths, our hearts were touched with fire." We share that incomparable experience of serving together, in close quarters, during our young and most unforgettable years. Those memories, and those shipmates, must never be forgotten. That is our purpose and duty.
