The Breed Profile

Each week we have a new breed profile! This week: The New Forest Pony!

The New Forest Pony

The New Forest Pony is one of the british pony breeds. The are wonderful, sturdy horses and are often seen roaming around wild in England. The stand no higher that 14.2hh, and usually no lower that 12hh. (There is no lower height limit though.) They are usually brown or bay, yet they can be any colour except for piebald, skewbald and blue eyed cream. They are wonderful child's mounts due to their docile temperment and willingness to do just about anything. New Forest ponies have a very pretty, ponyish head and are well proportioned...they're one of my favourite breeds!
