Introduction:Welcome to my page dedicated to my favorite band, Sleater-Kinney. It was originally a page on Carrie, since there are so many S-K pages out here but I figured this would be easier to set up. Soon I will have alot more information on Sleater-Kinney, and it will be alot more detailed than it is now. All I have written now is something on Sleater-Kinney (i didn't edit it yet, and it sucks).. I still have to write something on Carrie Kinney (Brownstein), Corin Tucker, Janet Weiss, and Excuse 17 and Heavens to Betsy, the bands they were in before S-K. It's NO WHERE near done yet.. so be patient. Oh, and if you have any comments/suggestions/anything, e-mail me: NerdDoll@aol.com Well.. thanks.. and read on. Sleater-Kinney:Sleater-Kinney was started in 1994 by Carrie and Corin. This was when Carrie was still in Excuse 17 (along with Becca Albee and CJ Phillips), and Corin was still in Heavens to Betsy (along with Tracy Sawyer). Corin and Carrie realized
how good S-K was and they departed with the bands they were in previously, and made Sleater-Kinney more than a side project. They recorded their 7", You Ain't It and songs on the Move into the Villa Villakula Compilation with Misty Farrel as their drummer. They then planned a trip to Australia, where they met Lora MacFarlane, who became the drummer. She drummed with them in the Self-Intitled album, and Call the Doctor (both of them on Chainsaw). Then Lora went back to Australia and Toni Gogin joined, and toured with them through Call the Doctor. They now have a new CD out, Dig Me Out (on Kill Rock Stars) with Janet Weiss as their drummer. I'll add more later..
