Pioneer Square.  Not one of my favorite places to be on a Saturday night.  But the Colourbox was the place to be on this Saturday night because my current favorite local band, Combover, was playing.  So Michelle & I braved the idiotic ex-frat boys and sports fans and headed into the belly of the beer beast.

We started the evening at a cocktail party thrown at the home of my friend Malik.  He lives a block away from the club, so we knew we could get pretty tanked up and not worry about it too much.  And did Malik mess us up, and good!  An inexperienced bartender, he had quite a heavy hand with the booze.  And that was fine by us, less money we'd have to spend on libations at the club.

When we finally stumbled into the Colourbox, Combover was just about to begin.  Our friends Mara & Jim were there, so we hung out with them until the band started.  Then we just couldn't help it, happy feet just gotta dance!

This band is the best blend of arena-butt-rock and humor I think I have ever seen.  Front man Dick Rossetti is a goddam genius, and you can quote me on that!  He puts on an even better show when there are assholes flipping him shit, and baby the shit was flying that night!  Dick threw some playground balls into the audience so we could pretend we were at a big rock show.  Those balls were wreaking havoc, let me tell you!  It was hilarious!  Then a couple of drunken weasels came up to the front where Michelle & I were dancing & got in our faces and started acting all aggressive.  Well, they got the Dick Rossetti treatment and got it good.  The only trouble is that lunkheads like them don't really understand that they're being insulted.  But it did keep them in the back of the club for a time.

Unfortunately, the band that played after Combover, well they SUCKED!  And I won't say who they were, you can look it up yourself.  So we got to chat with Mr. Rock & Roll himself for quite some time.  Michelle & I think that Combover sounds very much like Cheap Trick, and that is a very good thing.  We predict world fame & fortune for these guys!

We both had to agree, that this show was pure genius.  We hope that Dick never starts using Rogaine!
