(1)
Capture Hans Korda -- genetic engineer, who created designer
viruses stolen in Zurich. Viruses designed to attack specific ethnic
groups.
(2)
Plant audio-surveillance in phone of Businessman Wm. Glasser, who
planned on selling viruses to highest bidder, in order to trace lab where
viruses are being held.
(3) Destroy above lab
Secondary Mission:
Michael was given the side mission of testing the mental stability of Asian sector profiler, Andrea Karsov
Mission Anomalies:
(1)
First mission to capture Korda went critical in first ten minutes due to
faulty profile design (perimeter left unsecured for 30 seconds), deemed
unacceptable by Michael.
(2)
Profiler attempted to kill Michael by deactivating the fail-safe
mechanism during the mission to destroy the lab.
Adversaries: Hans Korda, William Glasser
Team Members: Andrea Karsov, Section One Profiler
Mission End Game:
Hans Korda captured. He gave up William Glasser. Genetic lab was destroyed. Andrea Karsov canceled.
Psychological
impact:
Nikita:
Nikita
was forced in this mission to watch Michael seduce another operative.
While she did not know that this seduction was a private mission which
Michael had been given, she did seem to realize that ‘something' was going
on. Basically, Nikita was able to function even though Michael began his
seduction of Andrea right in front of her. Her quick action saved
Michael's life in the genetic lab. It did not look as if Nikita had
made up her mind to report Andrea's attempt on Michael's life, when she
was told by Operations that Andrea had already been canceled.
Flaws: Nikita allowed her focus to lapse during the mission to bug Glasser's phone. Cammview tapes show her focusing on Michael and Andrea dancing for those three seconds.
Michael:
Michael's
execution of both the primary and ‘secondary' missions was flawless.
Michael's abilities in seduction are legendary in S1. The mission
to seduce the initially reluctant Karsov (in order to summarily dump her)
was achieved with little obvious effort on his part.
Michael
and Nikita's Bond:
Through
surveillance, Nikita was heard defending Michael to Andrea. Andrea
referred to the "relationship" between Michael and Nikita while she and
Michael were in bed. Is this one of those situations where the Section
is the last to know? Nikita was seen to warn Michael that Andrea was dangerous.
Recommendations:
Continue
observation. This pair gives little evidence to the overt observer,
but because of continued rumors and speculations abounding in S1, it is
recommended that covert surveillance be maintained at all times.
This profiler bases this on the old observation, "Where there is smoke,
there is fire."
