Nathaniel Newman Hylton (Hilton) was a son of George Hilton and a brother to Elijah Hylton of Floyd County Virginia. Nathaniel Hylton was born in King and Queen County Virginia in 1744. Nathaniel settled in the area later to be known as Patrick County Virginia in the 1780's. Nathaniel and his wife Elizabeth (WADE?) had the following children:

2. Seeny b. ca 1775 Bedford Co. Va married John AGEE Jr in Patrick Co. Va in 1798

3. Nathaniel Newman b. Bedford Co. Va married Poly PEDIGO in Patrick Co. Va on the 21st of December 1802

4. Elijah b. 1780 in Bedford Co. Va married Rachel TUGGLE in Patrick Co. Va on the 7th of September 1807

5. Lucy b. ca 1784 in Henry Co. Va (Patrick Co.) married Jonathan HUBBARD in Patrick Co. Va on the 13th of December 1807

6. Edward b. ca 1785 in Henry Co. Va (Patrick Co.) married Sarah "Sally" HART in Patrick Co. Va on the 26th of December 1816

7. Ursly b. ca 1787 in Henry Co. Va (Patrick Co.) married Abel LEE in Patrick Co. Va on the 12th of December 1807

8. Jacob Wade b. ca 1790 in Henry Co. Va (Patrick Co.) married Virginia Jane MANNING in Patrick Co. Va on the on the 12th of July 1815

9. Elizabeth b. 1796 in Patrick Co. Va married William HARRIS in Patrick Co. Va on the on the 7th of November 1814
