"Lonelier Than I Was When I Was Alone"

(This one is a tongue-in-cheek attempt at a c/w song)

I never thought when we got married I'd sit home Friday night Cookin' my own dinner, With no one else in sight. But lately Friday evenings There's nobody there As I watch reruns of "Hee-Haw", And lose at solitaire. You go out and party, Drink and dance the night away. While I'm at home, I'm all alone. It ain't supposed to be this way. I always thought when we got married We'd have a happy home. But these days I find I'm lonelier Than I was when I was alone. I always thought when we got married We'd make love night 'n' day But lately when I touch you you just push me away. You always say that you're too tired Even if it's just past ten. But you never seem to be too tired To dance with other men. My friends all think I'm happy, But if the truth be known These days I 'm even lonelier Than I was when I was alone © rmv
