DONNA, Emma Margaret died 16 June 1958 Source: Obituary from the LaSalle News-Tribune OBIT/NOTES: Mrs. Peter DONNA, 64 of Spring Valley (Bureau County) died at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Margaret's Hospital where she was admitted on April 22nd. She had been ill since December. Funeral services were conducted at 8:30 a.m. Thursday from the Elias Chapel in Peru and also at 9 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church in Spring Valley. Burial was commenced at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Spring Valley. The rosary was recited at the Elias Chapel at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. DONNA was the former Emma FOOCKLE, born in Peru on 16 Aug 1893. She married Peter DONNA, who survives, in 1918. They made their home in Spring Valley, Bureau County, IL. Mrs. DONNA is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. Edwin (Dorothy) MEYER, Spring Valley; Mrs. Leonard (Louise) BRATKOVICH, Peru & Mrs. Joseph (Florence) SIGMUND, Peru. A son, John DONNA, of Peru also survives. 3 brothers survive: Henry FOOCKLE, Spring Valley; Edward FOOCKLE, Peru & Ralph FOOCKLE of Peru. 4 Grandchildren survive as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, a sister, 2 brothers & one grandchild.

Living in Spring Valley with her husband and 4 children, she was life flighted to St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL where she died. She was in a coma before death took her. Services were at 1 p.m. that Thursday in the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley with the Rev. Dwight L. ALLEN of the First Baptist Church of LaSalle officiating. Visitation was from 2 - 9 p.m. Burial was in Miller Cemetery, Spring Valley. Mrs. DONNA was born 13 Feb 1938 in Peru to Clair & Frances Alberta (STARKEY) SCHELL. She married John DONNA on 11 Dec 1957 in Ottawa, IL. Joanne was employed by Hobbs Corp. in Spring Valley where she was union stewardess at the time of her death. She was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. She was survived by her husband, John, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clair SCHELL of Spring Valley; a son, William, 20, of LaSalle; a daughter, Debra, 18, at home; a daughter, Tammy, 16, at home & a daughter, Vicki Sue, 7, at home. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Richard of Cherry & Wayne of Buens Park, CA and 3 sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Virginia-"Ginger") DONNELLY of Spring Valley; Mrs. Elwood (Lois) LUNN of Viola, IL & Mrs. Calvin (Carol Sue) SNOW of Sparland. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn.

MEYER, 92, formerly of Cherry, died this morning (09 Sept 1980) in Lexington House Nursing Home, Spring Valley. She had been a patient for 2 and a half years. Services were at 8:30 a.m. that Thursday at the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd as well as 9 a.m. at St. Benedict's Catholic Church, Ladd. Burial was in Valley Memorial Cemetery. A rosary was held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. that Wed., during the visitation which lasted from 4 - 9 p.m. Mrs. MEYER was born 29 October 1887 in Spring Valley to James & Jenny (WYMER) MALLONEE. She married Phillip MEYER who died in 1959. Two sons and one daughter survived her: Earl (Russ) MEYER of LaSalle; Elmer MEYER of Ladd & Mrs. Catherine MAY of Ladd. Also surviving her are 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren & 4 g. g. grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Edwin; a daughter, Gladys; one brother, Irvan MALLONEE; and 2 grandchildren.
