Chapter 11:

Xelloss sighed as he finished the story. Lina was still crying like a little child, tears smeared all over her face.

"Lina…." He whispered trying to get her to calm down.

"….You’re lying.." She stated and looked into Xelloss’s eyes. "You’re lying. I’m not a reincarnation of some magnificent sorceress. True, I love sorcery but…you’ve mixed up facts with what you wish. I’m not a reincarnation of some great sorceress and neither are you!!"

"Lina?"

"You’re not the reincarnation of Ju-shinkan Xelloss!! Even if you are do you think it would matter to me?!" So many conflicting emotions ran through Lina. Dreams, she did remember dreaming where she ended up fighting with someone she treasured and that someone had helped her stay on her feet. But, but it wasn’t possible. She was born to do something she couldn’t before?! "If you were right than why are you leaving now!!!" Lina demanded.

"Do you think I want to?!" He yelled back. "Do you honest to god think that I’d rather be fighting for a country which consists of a group that killed my parents and endangered me and my sister?! Of course not!!!"

"Than WHY!!!!!!" She demanded back.

"For you!!! They threatened to kill you if I didn’t agree. Do you think I can bare to lose you again!? You’re not going to be as lucky as you were last time Lina. You can’t beat the Hell Master now, you don’t even know how to!!"

"Than tell me!!! I’m not an idiot, I can learn it in no time if you tell me how to beat him!!" Lina started pounding her fists at him, she felt so stressed out, she needed to get it out in some kind of way.

"You won’t be able to control it!!! You don’t even know for sure how you controlled it the last time, do you think you can do it now?!" He stopped her fists and glared into her. "Please, accept it." He pleaded.

"Easy for you to say!! You aren’t the one suddenly having to be told all this!!" She screamed out loud again. "You aren’t the one whom which your best friend’s country and your sister is fighting!! I AM NOT the Lina Inverse you claim I am. I am Lina Inverse, yes, my sister’s name is Luna, I know that. But….how can you expect me to accept something this, this weird!!" Lina screamed. "I don’t see the point in this thing?!"

"Lina, I know that you are the reincarnation of her. I also don’t expect you to accept the story. Not right now at least." He sighed and walked towards the door. "Please just think about it." He said that much and left.

Lina couldn’t find the strength in her to go after him. She could see how irrational she had been, when Xelloss was probably under the same amount of stress. But the sudden amount of information placed on her was overwhelming. She couldn’t stand it. She wanted to be cuddled in her mothers arms like she did when she was a kid. She wanted to be a kid again.

Suddenly Lina raised her head. Noticing the feeling of some one other than her in the room. She looked up, and saw a child around 10 or so smiling at her. He had black wavy hair that came to his shoulders, and white skin with green eyes. He wore a tank top and a pair of shorts, weird for the winter weather.

"Who….are you?" Lina asked standing up as she walked over to the kid.

"…Do you want to be a kid again? Go back to the past maybe." His smile looked so innocent as he held out his hand for her. "Take it, I won’t do anything to harm you." He smiled even more.

"A… kid again?"

The boy just nodded and put his hand right in front of Lina’s face. "Imagine it, you’ll be away from all the worries, if you only slip into the past."

Unsure of what she was doing, Lina slowly extended her hand. When it touched the boys, she felt her mind go black.

Xelas sat on a bench in a park waiting for the person she promised to meet come. She had surely wished at those kinds of times she didn’t give up smoking. Under the stress she felt now one cigarette would certainly feel good.

The war that would get started, this time ‘Lina Inverse’ would get involved, which meant the more Graushelaa would want to get his hands on her. To relive the past.

Xelas sighed and looked up into the sky. What was she like in the past. When she was the Beast Master Xelas Metalium. She knew so little of what she was the reincarnation of. Yet the other 3 reincarnation of the dark lords knew exactly what purpose they are to fulfill now that they are reincarnated.

Garv’s was to, this time, see that his minion lived in happiness, and for Garv himself to become the true human he wished to be. Phiblizo’s was to get revenge on ‘Lina Inverse’ and ‘Gaury Gabliev’ for his own wish to know that he was strong. Graushelaa’s was to this time grant the ultimate wish of mazoku a dream he had dragged on from the past. All of them had something to do with themselves, but her? Her purpose was to make sure Xelloss and Lina Inverse would be happy this time. Nothing about Xelas herself. ‘She’ was not a purpose in being reincarnated.

Did that mean she had lived her life to the fullest as Xelas the Beast Master? But than why was she sentenced to the burden of this world instead of a normal person. The more she thought about it, the more she disliked her present life.

"Why looking so gloom Xelas?" A deep voice asked from behind her as a rounded piece of paper tapped her head.

Xelas turned around and was met face to face with some one she hadn’t seen in a while. Long read hair in a loose pony tail, deep gray eyes, it can be called handsome in a way as well.

"Took you long enough to come Garv." Xelas smiled up at him. "I started to think you won’t come."

"Hey, I may not be bright but I’m not as bad as Gaury. …Talking about Gaury has he…..?" Nothing more needed to be said for Xelas to know what he was talking about.

"No Garv, not yet. I don’t think it will either. It’s already been…. Eleven years or so, I won’t hold my hopes up high."

"Same with Val….. I was kind of hoping that as the time for it drew closer it would but……. Even as the crisis draws closer, no sign of it…" Garv looked depressed, which was unusual for him to, and Xelas just sighed.

"….Maybe some kind of shock method would work." Xelas suggested trying to cheer him up.

"Trust me Xelas, that I’ve tried a lot. Hitting Val with a vase, throwing him off the stairs, I went even far enough to actually bang his head on a car…."

"And I thought sending Gaury to Luna was bad….." Xelas sighed as she remembered her best friends philosophy. ‘Never ever dote on any one, they’ll just end up wanting more. Being strict is the best way and the best discipline is physical’. No wonder Lina feared her.

"…..How is he holding up with Lina… you know, he wasn’t fond of the idea before, I guess he wouldn’t be now either… that’s kind of why I wanted his memory back, so that at least he won’t do something bad for himself."

"He accepted it better than I thought he would." Xelas was surprised about that herself. Although she hadn’t told Xelloss about ‘Gaury Gabliev’ she knew what he was to ‘Lina Inverse’. So when Gaury told her he was happy for Lina and Xelloss, she was surprised. "…He actually likes another girl from what I heard, her name was……Shilfiel Nels Raada."

"Huh, things are going on when I don’t know about them. Oh yeah, Ryugyoku says hi to you and Xelloss. He says that when you and Xelloss return he’ll meet you two…. Why are you returning Xelas? You fought to flee that country and now you’re going back."

"Do I have a choice? My purpose is to protect Lina Inverse and Xelloss, the Chinese government threatened to kill Lina, do I have a choice?"

"I guess not if you put it that way." Garv replied and smiled. "If you plan on going I’ll go with you. You’ll need all the help you can get from protecting Xelloss from the mazoku. Of course Ryugyoku would help."

"….What is Ryugyoku? I mean, I know he’s our ally but other than that? How does he know all these things?" Xelas asked. Even after all these years she still didn’t understand why Ryugyoku would help them, or who he truly was.

"…Ryugyoku…..I don’t know, to tell the truth. I mean, he seems to know more than we’d ever know. I thought he may be a reincarnation of Shablaniguduu but that can’t be. Why would the king of mazoku be reincarnated as a half of Ryu and human? So… I don’t know. I only have a hunch that he’s related to our past though."

"He is. I have the exact same feeling." Garv replied. "I don’t know how though."

Just than, they heard a sound behind them and the two turned around. When they did, they were met with a girl who had long blue, ocean blue hair and ocean blue eyes. Her skin was whiter than snow, and her height was just above 5ft.

"Who are you?" Xelas asked. Suspicion creeping in her voice as she started to summon her whip.

"Ocean….I guess." The girl shrugged. "I don’t know why I decided to come over here instead of over there. But, I guess like you two, I’ve been living with humans too long." She sighed and looked up. "It hurts me a lot though."

"…..Dalphin?" Garv muttered. "Are you Dalphin?!"

The girl did a slight bow. "Deep sea Dalphin, owner of the demon oceans." She than dashed towards Xelas and hugged her. "Xelas, Xelas, Xelas….I’m so sorry about what happened before, I don’t know where to start. I am so sorry!! If I had more faith in myself I could have speared all the pain, you, Xelloss, Lina Inverse and Gaury Gabliev went through. I am so sorry Xelas. I can’t ask for your forgiveness but I want you to know that I am sorry!"

"Dalphin…" Xelas didn’t understand a thing and looked at Garv for help but he just shook his head.

Xelloss sighed as he entered his dormitory room. He wasn’t that surprised that Lina refused to accept it. It took him nearly a year to accept it as well. His only concern was having to leave for China, still in a fight with Lina.

"Xelloss, are you back?" Zelgadiss asked as he walked into Xelloss’s room. "Can I have a talk with you?"

Xelloss just nodded and offered Zelgadiss a seat.

"…..I don’t know how to start this but……. Princess Glacier of England……"

"I know that Zelgadiss-san. I’ve already met her." He sighed and sat on the bed. "Looks like the truth can’t be ignored much longer. The announcements declaring war should be put on soon."

"…If Princess Glacier is willing to come and fetch me and Rezo…….It must be pretty bad over there."

"….Are you worried? It may just……"

"result in what it did…..last time we fought…" Zelgadiss looked up into Xelloss. "I guess I am in a way. None of us would enjoy what happened last time. Thank god Amelia, Gaury, Filia, Valtierra, Shilfiel, and Lina don’t remember anything. It would just be too hard on them."

"Actually, Lina does sort of know the truth."

Zelgadiss nearly lost his balance at those words. "You mean you told her?!?!?!?!?!" He demanded. "Xelloss, now wasn’t the time. She does deserve to know, yes. But not now!! She’s going to be under a lot of stress just that you are going to China and this war, but she doesn’t need to know that she *killed* you last time!!"

"She doesn’t know she *killed* me. I also have no intention on telling her unless she wishes to know. Besides, she doesn’t believe she is the reincarnation of someone."

"Doesn’t surprise me that she doesn’t believe it. I think it’s more that she doesn’t WANT to believe it though."

"I understand why she doesn’t. It is too much on her……. she is, after all only seventeen."

"It’s weird. She’s only seventeen, but she’s already seventeen. …..Look Xelloss, don’t mention any more of her past to her or anyone. It’s the best choice."
