My Dear Sofia
Ode to Sofia, the one whom I adore-
It's been eight wonderful years, and I wish for many more.
The laughter, the tears, the joys beyond measure-
Your touch, your smile-these things I've treasured.
Remember our walk in Laguna, Talking marriage by the shore?-
Our trip to Hawaii where our love grew even more?
Remember our lunches at Pevco, life at Post-Ridge-
Back in the days when our lives had just bridged?
Then came the day when we danced in a whirl-
That was the day we found out "It's a girl."
Remember our joys in watching her grow-
The trips to the park, the trips to the snow?
Then came a change that's odd to relate-
We packed up our stuff and moved out of state.
This was a step-exciting yet painful-
But thanks to our God, we've remained tranquil.
Leaning on each other has drawn us together-
Giving us the love that can handle any weather.
As I look back at all that we've shared-
I smile with joy at how we have fared.
I hope that the future is as good as the past-
That our love will grow and continue to last.
I want to be with you all to the end-
Because you're not only my wife-you're also my friend.
