Holiday Raisin Bread

2 pkg. yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
3 cups lukewarm water
1 cup molasses
1/4 cup butter (melted)
12 cups or more of flour
2 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp. salt
1 pkg. or more of raisins
spices if desired

Dissolved yeast in 1 cup lukewarm water to which 2 tsp. of sugar has been added. Combine 3 cups lukewarm water, molasses and melted butter. Sift dry ingredients, add raisins and spices. Stir dissolved yeast into molasses mixture. Stir flour into mixture and knead for 10 or 12 minutes. Place in a greased bowl and let rise to about in bulk for about 2 1/2 hours. Divide dough to form into loaves. Place into greased pans and let rise for 1 hour. Bake at 400*F for about 30 - 35 minutes. Brush with melted butter while hot.
