The night before...

Quite frankly, Kanov thought this job would be harder than this. Here he was, with three members of the NWR, inside the Coliseum. They had already snuck in past the watchmen, made their preparations for Operation Deathknell, and were now finding a secure spot to wait till tomorrow. Kanov would leave the two to play their little terrorism game, and he would leave for parts unknown. Kanov thought about how Tarvis planned the whole thing out, shook his head, and smiled. The General didn't know snot, but he knew how to persuade. Kanov already thought of at least six ways this plan would backfire, but he went along anyway. Why? The large payment. For Kanov was a mercenary, and he would go along with anything if the money was right. He saw another vaguely familiar mercenary in the crowd at the meeting place a few days ago, but didn't want to know why. He just wanted to get this job over with, and split.

After finding a suitably empty room in the basement, Kanov made the final preparations and turned to leave. Two of the men were in the room, while a third was still checking the equipment for the big 'surprise' tomorrow. As he got ready to set foot outside the room, one of the men grabbed his shoulder. "An' jus' what do you think you are goin'?" the man asked. "My half of the job is done." Kanov hissed and started out again. "Really?" the man replied and pulled a dagger out of his coat. "Bad career choice." Kanov said as he slipped out of the man's grip and pulled his own dagger.

As Kanov started stepping out of the door, the other man pulled his dagger and threw it at Kanov. Kanov ducked the sailing utensil, but was kicked in the head by the first man. "Why you cheatin' sonofa.." Kanov backed out of the door, all his attention on the two advancing killers. If Kanov was able to get out the door, he could make enough headway to cast his 'EXIT' spell and get the hell away from these two.

Kanov forgot about the third man..

As the third person pulled his knife out of the now-extinct Kanov's back, the other two were finishing their preparations. There must not be any leakage of the plans, and now this would ensure that.

Later that evening, Katt was sitting on top of the roof of Coursair's inn. After she got her room in order, (luckily, she reserved in advance, the rest of the place was bursting with people.) she climbed out of her window to appreciate the night air, and get away from Nina's tossing and turning in the bed on the other side of the room. The smell coming from the inn downstairs didn't appeal to her, having a sensitive nose and hating the smell of alcohol. Not to mention the leers..

A person standing outside the inn caught her attention. He was strolling around, obviously bored. 'Is that who I think it is?' Katt thought. The man looked up at the night sky and his attention turned to the person standing on the roof. 'Yup, that's him!' Katt thought as she saw his face. She quickly ran toward the side of the inn and started climbing downward.

Ken Masters saw that cat girl standing on the roof and was now watching her climb down the building. 'That kid IS crazy', Ken thought as Katt decided to forego climbing the last two floors and hopped off the side. 'Very acrobatic, though', Ken thought again as she flipped once and landed on her feet in front of him.

"Hey Ken!" she said as she stood up. "Uh, hey." Ken replied, "No hard feelings over the other day?" Katt shrugged and said "Nah, I just wasn't prepared for your weird fighting style". "W..Weird!?!" Ken smirked, "Listen kid, you do know I'm not holding back tomorrow, do you?" Katt smiled and patted him on the cheek and purred "I wouldn't have it any other way, boy." Ken kept his smirk and said "Have it your way kitty."

They walked back into the inn together, both thinking of the next day.
