Jabbers' February 2000 Weight Loss Journal

February 1st (234 lbs): Wow, made it through the first month of 2000 already. It's off to a fast pace, time just goes so fast these days. The clock is ticking down to my sister's wedding at the end of April. I hope I can drop another 40-50 lbs by then. My goal for this month is to exercise on the treadmill 5x a week. My other goal is to drink 64 oz of water each day.

February 6th: Well, I didnt make my goal of 5x on the treadmill, but I did manage to squeeze in 3x this week. Won't beat myself up too bad about it, at least I did *some* sort of exercise this week. I went shopping and picked up a couple new outfits, I've gone from a size 26-28W to 18-20W. I know the weight loss would speed up if I'd just be a little more active and watch the carbs. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but I do eat more than I should. My goal for this week is to get in 4 times on the treadmill (one more than last week) and to keep drinking the water.

February 11th: I've been so bad about updating my journal lately...it seems like there just isn't enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done! Haven't really had anything new to talk about, I haven't been exercising like I planned to do either. I know it's something that I just need to do. It's so hard to be motivated. I know the weight is not going to come off unless I start putting forth more effort. I'm going to Austin for the weekend, but hopefully when I get back I'll be able to focus on what needs to be done and just do it!

February 17th: Again, I have been really bad about updating my journal page...there just isn't a whole lot of new stuff going on. I'm a bit frustrated at myself because I know I'm not working as hard as I need to to get this weight off. The weight is coming off 1-2 lbs without me having to consciously do anything...but I know it would come off twice as fast if I exercised every day and watched the types of food I'm eating. The easy part is not being able to over-eat because my new stomach is so small, but it's not the whole picture. I still need to work on not doing the things that got me over weight in the first place. Oh.. one thing I guess I should tell everyone is that I have started losing some of my hair...which is a sign I'm not getting in enough protein. So I've been trying to supplement my diet with protein powders to get enough in. I'm going to go back to using Dietwatch so I can have a better idea exactly how many calories and what types of calories I'm actually consuming...

February 24th (232 lbs): Nothing much to report...I keep telling myself that I need to exercise more and eat more protein, less carbs, blah, blah, blah...but I just don't seem to have much motivation. At least I can't eat very much so that keeps me from pigging out like I used to, but I don't feel like I'm taking advantage of everything this surgery can do for me...the weight is still coming off even when I don't do anything, but it's not coming off as fast as I know it could if I'd just put forth any amount of effort. I didn't even bother to take 3 month pictures because I haven't really accomplished much since my 2 month pictures.

February 27th (229 lbs): YAY!!!!!!!!! Finally the scale moved more than a half pound at a time :) I was getting to the point where I wasn't even weighing in once a week because it was barely moving. I joined a gym yesterday and went for my first work out today...I'm going to be soooooo sore tomorrow!! I havent used some of these muscles in over three years! It felt good though, it really did. I can't wait to go again tomorrow.
