Jabbers' May 2000 Weight Loss Journal

May 5th (215 lbs): Happy Cinco de Mayo. Sorry for the delay in updating. I came home from the wedding to find my email was broke and the cable connection kept going out. After a week of frustration, it all seems fixed. The wedding went beautifully...hopefully soon I will have some pictures to put on the page. I added a new picture to my photo page... I replaced the Pat, Julie, and Alexis photo with just one of me. It's just a facial shot, so can't see the weight loss progress, but I thought it was about time to take Pat's picture off the page. Will update later about my week in Austin. Tomorrow I'm taking an exam at Aetna US Healthcare for a job opening...wish me luck!

May 7th: I did very well on my pre-employment exams for Aetna, next step is setting up an interview. I really hope it works out that I get the job...I'm currently driving 30 miles one way to work, this job is about 5 miles from my house, more money, better benefits, and better opportunity. **Fingers crossed**

May 14th: Sorry for the lapse in updating..I haven't been doing anything positive to continue losing weight. Haven't been to the gym in weeks, haven't been watching what I'm eating since before my sister's wedding. I did go on the interview this past week at Aetna, and it seemed to go well. If I get the job, it will be right down the street, less than a quarter of a mile from the gym. Aetna is very close to where I live, so I'll spend less time driving to and from work, so hopefully that will get me off the kick I've been on where I'm too tired from working to go to the gym. I figure since the gym will be right on the way home from the gym I can go either before or after work. I know I'll feel so much better after I start exercising...it's just making myself do it that is so hard.

May 22nd: Great news to report! Aetna offered me a job, I start June 12th. I'm so excited! More money, GREAT benefits, paid tuition so I can go back and finish my degree, and its right down the street from the gym! I have such a good feeling about this opportunity. Hopefully now that my career seems to be getting back on the right path, my health and fitness quest will get back on the right path as well. I've been at a stand still for a month now and it's time to get back on track.

May 30th: Not much to update on lately.. been doing next to nothing in terms of health and fitness, although I did go to the gym yesterday for the first time in almost 2 months. Felt good to be exercising, but oh man was I sore today! Will try to make it back to the gym tomorrow, with a plan to rotate every other day lifting weights legs Mon-Wed-Fri and arms Tue-Thur-Sat hopefully that will keep me from being sore all over if I rotate.
