Journey

(One Man, One Journey)

Another board squeaks as I step off the wrap around porch.
The wind pounds away at the shutters,
reminding me that I have to tighten the ones on the second story.

I follow the path I followed before,
yet still I don't know where I'm going.

The dry brown grassy weeds brush against my body, making my legs itch.
The wind whips my face with my long brown hair,
making it harder for my blue eyes to see the path.

Yet I must journey on.

The end of the path is in site,
now I'm alone on a cliff, no weeds, no wind, just me.
I can hear the waves crash against the jagged rocks below.

Now I must journey on,
and go back to where it all began.

(one step, journey over.)
