Alone

Out living his family and few friends,
Jack spent his last few days alone.
Not talking to his friends or even turning on his computer.

Alone in his hotel room with no energy to move,
like he had been for the last two years.
Flies buzzed around his head
and he clutched the phone and stared out into space.

With no energy to yell,
he thought somebody would notice...at least a neighbor.
But as each day passed he cried himself to sleep,
praying somebody would find him, soiled and all.

But his prayers went unanswered, just as he thought they would.
For he had given up on the church long before it gave up on him.
Alone he lived and alone he died.

Lonely like the morning star, I sit an wonder what the future will hold for me!
