Aftermath

One by one you leave me,
You all pledged your loyalty,
What great friends you turned out to be.

For a while you all acted like crew on a ship,
never wanting to abandon their captain,
but the scar I left in my wrist became too much for you to bare.

I thank the ones that stayed by my side,
but I wish you would've left me in my puddle of blood.

(a bird stops for a drink at the lake,
the sun hits high noon,
but he'll never see the sun again.)
