THE FIRST STEP

Okay! You have decided to spend your vacation at Walt Disney World. What is your first step? Research! Research! Research! There are some vacation destinations where you can make a few calls, arrive at your hotel and then just go with the flow. Walt Disney World is not one of those places. :-) If you haven't done your research, within minutes of your arrival, you will probably be overwhelmed by the number of choices laid out before you.

My favorite source of current Walt Disney World info is the rec.arts.disney.parks (RADP) newsgroup. When I say current, I mean up-to-the-minute, sometimes even up-to-the-second information. There are many Cast Members (Disney employees) and local residents of the Orlando area who post on RADP regularly. This assures that readers of RADP have first hand information on what attractions are scheduled for rehab, what the crowds are like today, which menu has changed at which restaurant, and what that newest ride is like.

Walt Disney World is 47 square miles of pure fun! It consists of four major theme parks, the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. There are two themed water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. There are restaurants that satisfy even the pickiest eater. Outdoor recreation includes fishing, golf, miniature golf, tennis and water sports. There are health clubs and spas as well as Disney's Wide World of Sports complex.

Are you beginning to see why research is so important? :-) You can choose the vacation that is exactly right for you whether you are an on-the-go-from-morning-to-night person or a I-want-to-rest-and-relax-on-my-vacation person. Get ready for the vacation of your life!!!
