Mary Wollstonecraft was born in London, England on August 30, 1797; the daughter of the philosopher, William Godwin. Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein, one of the greatest horror novels of all time. It is about a young student who discovers how to create life and then fashions a monster that finally causes his death.

Mary was the wife of the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley and published an edition of his works in 1839.
