To Our Family & Friends

WELCOME SIGN

To Dan and Linda Franks, my brother and his wife(Sis)and also Margaret's Uncle and Aunt.

First and foremost for two very special people who opened up a brand new world to us on the internet by the gift of a Web TV unit to me and an upgrade of one to my daughter Margaret. They have always there to answer questions, give some lessons and even put out a few fires while we learned what we were doing. We were thankfully bombarded with learning resources some of which we have yet to master, but someday will.

Linda knew that we really wanted webpages and so she, in her quiet methodical way, created one for me and made graphics for Margarets and also helped get hers up. It was at that time we began to appreciate the amount of dedication, skill, artistic ability and work that is required to design beautiful pages. Without the love and support of my brother and sister(also Margarets' Uncle and Aunt),we probably would never had this wonderful experience.

Trish Good@My Front Porch, our new cyberfriend.

I was so happy when Dan and Linda did my webpage for me that I felt compelled to find a way to reward them for their help and love. I contacted Trish, who is a long time friend of Dan and Linda, and asked her to make an award for me to give Deserving Designers. I wanted Dan and Linda to be the first, as they were who inspired me. I had been told that Trish was very wise in the computer field and did beautiful work with graphics and in other areas of design, and she does. Trish created at least six awards for them and together,we selected one for their website.

You can see the award from Jeremia's Country Comforts at:
Michigan Reflections

I am sure that you would also enjoy a visit at:
Trish's Front Porch

I know she will be happy to see you

To all our great new cyberfriends we have met through the webrings we joined.

We have made some wonderful web friends through three outstanding organizations and each of them have helped us in very special ways. Ladies of the Heart, a very special group of women, concerned with contemporary issues, offer a lot of caring and sharing and more help if you need it.

The Heartland Genealogy Society who opened their doors to me as a member with on-going support as needed. I am also proud to be a member of the Native American WebRing where I have learned so much about life from other perspectives. You all know who you are and we value your friendship and your continued support. We also treasure the knowledge that we have gleaned from each of you.

Our Families Future.

Margaret and I followed Dan and Linda's lead in getting our computers, which we are now learning how to use. This has opened up an even more spectacular new world for us, Windows 98.I learned about computers in the early 80's when a window was something you opened to let in the fresh air, so you can only imagine my confusion at first. I have progressed enough to have not broken any of these "windows " in my computer, so I would call that success.

So, where does this family go from here? Probably to do more learning and designing. I know that Dan and Linda have made some beautiful changes in their website including Java applets. They also taught Margaret about applets and the three of them made one for my front page at:
Many Trails of Tears.

As for Margaret, she had put her website on hold while doing the work on mine, but now we've decided we will be joining forces and working together on one wonderful site where we both plan to do a lot more learning and creating. I will summarize our grateful thanks in saying that these pages are created with love and we believe that they should be called The Family Pages
