CATalog of the Week #11: Hobby Builders Supply

OK, I was going through my mini CATalogs and came across one so obvious I can't believe I haven't done it before as a CATalog of the Week. Why is it obvious? Well, obvious to me because I (1) order from it all the time; (2) wait anxiously for a new one to come in the mail (they just keep getting better); (3) it's the catalog with all the color pictures and didn't cost me a dime; and (4) they're the people who have so much of my money I may as well invest stock in them! Seriously, though, people: I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS CATALOG AND YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BY ORDERING IT; IN FACT, YOU'LL THANK ME!

This week's CATalog has no theme because I cannot think of one to describe it. They've got a little of everything!

OK, I do admit that HBS had a bum rap from me when they were out of stock on the wardrobe (just like the one in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis) I wanted and it took forever to come in. That is the one negative aspect about this company, so I may as well be upfront about it. It's been my experience that anything on back order does take a while to come in. Other than that, though, this CATalog is FABULOUS. Let me list the benefits so as to make everything clear.

1) the catalog is FREE (though they have a $5.00 price tag on the cover). You can view some at their webiste at http://www.miniatures.com (place a bookmark on it). Personally I recommend that while you're there you fill out the space to have them send you a catalog by mail. Why? Because then you can LIE IN BED AND LOOK AT ALL THOSE MINIS AND DREAM! This catalog will be well-thumbed!

2) not only can you dream, but you can SEE. As I said above, the catalog is in complete color.

3) DISCOUNT PRICES. That's right--discounted....as a mini maker myself I cannot believe some of the prices they sell some of this stuff at. Plus they give you a suggested retail price (which is highly accurate, according to my research) and then their discount price.

4) BONUS DOLLARS. If you place an order of $50 or over, be sure to look at your invoice. On the bottom you'll find a handy little detachable coupon featuring bonus dollars. For example, if you spend $50 you will receive a bonus dollar coupon worth $5.00 on your next order. Be sure to use these by the deadline date though, or you'll be a eany-meany bit mad, like I was once in the past when I forgot to use mine! Now I put my bonus dollars on my computer where I won't miss them.

5) FREE GIFTS. HBS gives free gifts on orders $100 or over, and these are not factory seconds or plastic junk. Last time I placed a big order, I got some finely detailed pewter dinnerware.

6) order anytime. And I mean ANY time! Even at 2:00 a.m. when you're drooling over minis and you think no one else is up, HBS is. You can order toll free at 1-800-926-6464. They will take your order, give you an estimated date of delivery, and now, will even send a confirmation of your order by email.

7) order online and get an instant 10% off (I think that speaks for itself.)

8)Sales and coupons. Find coupons on the inside front cover, and closeouts too.

9) You guessed it--this CATalog is a four pawer! --CATNIP! Snatch up this CATalog, fast!

And tell them that gal from Boston sent ya, their customer #127227, that keeps on giving them all her money that should go for cat food (is that why my cats love to CHEW on this CATalog so much?)
