Our Lady of the Wayside RC Church is a lively, modern church in Shirley, Solihull,
with many active charity projects around the world.
We also are a major promoter of Traidcraft, the fair trade organisation.
This church is a very fine example of Catholic churches built in this country since the Second Vatican Council 1962-65. This Council was a meeting of Catholic bishops from all over the world with the Pope. Among other things it radically changed the way Catholics worshipped and celebrated the Mass and Sacraments and the way they saw themselves as a community. It restored the celebration of the Paschal Mystery of the death and resurrection of Christ to the centre of the Church's worship.
Our Lady of the Wayside Church reflects and expresses this spirit very clearly.
