Planning a Sky

Melissa, who has recently come out of the closet as herself -- no, she's not a lesbian, she used to write her journal under an assumed name -- is the place to be. Her journal is not only updated with FAR more frequency than any one else's I've ever encountered (and that includes everyone on this links page besides Darren), it's also the most comprehensive. You really feel as if you are living her life with her, and she pulls no punches, either. Have a horrible near-breakup with your boyfriend and you write *yourself* to seem like the jerk in the situation? Who DOES this! We usually pretend the OTHER person's an asshole in our journals. You'll get no-holds-barred honesty from Mel, even if that means slogging through five paragraphs about a stuffed animal. It's a living novel, and it's worth a daily visit. It's nice to have something to count on every day.

TERENCE - Yes, that's right, one 'r' please. Terence is young, single, looking for love and attention. He's another of my five favorite people. I've known him for years, and he's only getting wittier. Get it while it's hot, kids!.

As far from god as angels can fly...

This is what I think about Sarah, the NON-RENT alter-ego of "Angel": No one makes me prouder to revisit my ageism. She makes 17 read like 45, and I'm not just cliche-ing myself for good measure. You know how some people are old souls? Well, Sarah is a whole bunch of them. She's prescient, insouscient, and brilliant. That's a lot of "nt's", and she's worth every one..

Jenna: I like to say that Darren is Jenna's better half, or vice versa, but all I can really say is, you can't visit one site without visiting the other. They cross-reference each other all the time - hell, I would say they WERE one person's two distinct personalities if I hadn't met them both. But, since I have, let me say this: you'll never believe they came from Detroit. And after reading their sites, even though you might need dramamine from Jenna's (she defines whiplash), I am so glad I met them. I think you will be too.

Me unplugged

Travis: He never updates. I mean, NEVER. I think the last time was when leaves were still on the trees, and the year was even-numbered. So until he updates (and I'm sure he will when he reads this), think of his site as a well-sealed tomb. Everything in place, with just a thin layer of dust. But what's inside is quite wonderful: a testament to someone so fearless he put pictures of his 17 y.o. body in underwear up.
