IMPORTANT MESSAGE!
After a general meeting on Jan. 11, 1998, a short executive board meeting was held, during which now-former President Clare Mathews resigned from her position. Doug Levy then became Kalamazoo USY's new President, and appointed Joel Eisenberg to take the position of Membership/Social Program Vice President.
KAZUSY is the Kalamazoo, Michigan Chapter of USY. USY stands for United Synagogue Youth, which is a nationwide organization of Conservative Jewish teenagers from grades 9 through 12. It is associated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Each chapter is involved with social action projects for the benefit of the community, "tikun olam," a charity organization, local social events for the enjoyment of chapter members, regional conventions, and religious programming.
