Angels In Our Midst

I Believe In Angels

I Believe in Angels, and I Know One Is Watching Over You

I know there's an angel always by your side, whether male or female, it's there to be your guide.

It rejoices with each sunrise, the beginning of each day, knowing that you're safe, indeed, for in God's hands you stay.

And when the evening comes and the darkness makes its cover, your angel settles in the coming night and above your head it hovers.

Yes, I believe in angels -- you have your very own, because you are God's special child and you'll never be alone.

-- Barbara Cage --
"For He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."

"Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

"Open the pages of Scriptures, and there is a Rustle of Angels."

"The angels keep their ancient places, Turn but a stone and start a wing! 'Tis ye, 'tis your estranged faces, That miss the many-splendored thing."
"For He will command His angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. Upon their hands they shall bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone."
May God grant you always
A sunbeam to warm you,
A moonbeam to charm you,
A sheltering angel
so nothing will harm you.

Under Wings

An article in National Geographic several years ago provided a penetrating picture of God's wings...

After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree.

Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. When the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast. Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings would live.

"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;..." (Psalm 91.4)
