Maria Barbara (Mary) Killian, daughter of Peter Jacob Killian and Barbara Mary Lisowski, was born 1 Jul 1899, in North Creek, and she died on 7 Jun 2005, in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She married on 8, Jun 1919, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Carmen B. Metheral, son of William Samuel Metheral and Isabella Stewart, who was born 23 Nov 1891, in Creemore, Simcoe Co., Ontario, and who died 7 Jul 1977, at Weyburn. Mary and Carman are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Some personal information about Carmen - he moved with his family in 1904 to the Weyburn district; he played hockey with the Soo Line League; he farmed until 1927, when sold the farm to Oscar Killian; and he was a major shareholder and linesman for the Weyburn Plains Telephone Co. According to Mary's biographical sketch in As Far As The Eye Can See she was well known for her needle crafts and handiwork; she was a leader of the Grand Bend Homecraft Club; she was a member of the Saskatchewan Farmers' Union National Registration Regulations. Mary and Carmen had the following children:


1-Russell Harvey Metheral, born 26 Nov 1919, in Weyburn, died 28 Nov 1964, in Regina, Saskatchewan. He is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Russell married Sylvia Joyce Simpson on 15 Nov 1950, at Plentywood, Sheridan Co., Montana. Their living children will not be mentioned here, but their marriage is verified as such:

2-Marjorie Pearl Metheral, was born 24 Aug 1921, in Weyburn, where she died on 29 Sep 2012. On 15 Oct 1940, at Weyburn Marjorie married Nicolas Joseph (Nick) Heintzman, who was born 18 Jul 1915, in Leader, Saskatchewan, and who died 28 May 1999, at Weyburn. Both are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. According to his obituary, Nick farmed in the Weyburn District and owned the store, Heintzman Centre, for 12 years. He married Marjorie Pearl Metheral on October 15, 1940, and enjoyed 59 loving years. During WWII he was in the Army from 1942 to 1944, when he was discharged due to medical reasons ... He was predeceased by his parents, Rudolph and Irma Heintzman, two brothers, Walter and Sebastian (Cappy), two sisters, Pauline and Francis, and several half brothers and sisters ... Funeral service held Tuesday, June 1 at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church,Weyburn, interment followed in Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Theur daughter Karen Laurette Heintzman, born 20 Jun 1942, in Weyburn, died there on 20 Mar 2011, and was laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery. She was married at the time of her death and in her life she had become an accomplished pianist, she obtained her psychiatric nursing diploma in 1963, after which she moved to Calgary, Alberta where she attained employment in an accute psychiatric unit at Holy Cross Hospital, advancing to unit manager. She returned to Weyburn where she enjoyed a simpler life before her death.

3-Sherwood Carmen Metheral, was born 13 Mar 1928, at Weyburn, where he died on 4 Sep 1945. He is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery. It is reported that he died from polio.

4-Audrey Marcelle Metheral, born 21 Aug 1930, in Weyburn, married 16 Jun 1949, in Regina, Saskatchewan, to Murray Carmen (Bus) Wilkinson. According to his obituary, Murray "Bus" Carman Wilkinson from Weyburn (formerly Yellow Grass), passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at the age of 77 years. Bus was born on June 26, 1929 in Weyburn. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Audrey (Metheral) Wilkinson ... Bus was predeceased by his parents, Victor and Ruth Wilkinson. Bus was raised and educated in Yellow Grass and lived the majority of his life on the family farm near Yellow Grass, retiring to Weyburn in 1998. Along with farming, Bus was a journeyman carpenter, building numerous houses and quonsets throughout the area. Bus was actively involved with both the Yellow Grass United Church and the Grace United Church in Weyburn ... Funeral service was held Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, with Rev. John Ferrier officiating. Interment followed in Yellow Grass Cemetery.

5-Ronald Stuart Metheral, was born 12 Feb 1933, at Weyburn. He married Victoria Sidloski. No further information.
