Our SNODGRASS Family
East Buffalo Cemetery
Washington County, Pennsylvania

As stated in The History of East Buffalo Church (1911), the East Buffalo Cemetery is located on land deeded to the German Societies of this neighborhood being of the Presbyterians (?) and church persuasion for school, meeting house and burial ground forever, by Hardman Horn and Elizabeth his wife, Lawrence Streker and Barbara his wife, and Michael Ely and Mary his wife, in the year 1802. It was used as a burial ground as early as 1796. It is located 1 mile south of Rt. 40 and adjacent to the East Buffalo Presbyterian Church. This list is taken from the Bicentennial Publication Buffalo Township 1776-1976 Washington County Pennsylvania. It has been revised and alphabetized here for the reader's convenience, however original page numbers are included for those wishing to find loved ones in original order of placement.

Family members, or those related directly to principle family lines, are in green print. My notes are in dark red.

I visited the East Buffalo Cemetery five years ago and took photos of the Thomas and Elizabeth Chambers headstones. The cemetery is small and many of the old, white limestone (?) markers are weather worn and difficult to read. KS I will leave the Clark entries on this page considering the fact that our own related Elisha Ely first married a Mary Clark. These individuals may have been her family members and they might be of interest to other researchers.
