    • Paul Cienniwa played the Three Short Pieces, Opus 34 as part of the Prelude to the funeral service of former Rhode Island Senator Claiborne Pell at Trinity Church in Newport (5 January 09).

    • The choir of The Cathedral Church of St Paul in Boston sang the Nunc dimittis, Opus 87 No. 9 (7 April 09).

    • The choir of First Church in Boston (Paul Cienniwa, director) sang Bless the Lord, O My Soul (31 May 09); the performance was broadcast live on WERS 88.9FM (Boston) and with streaming audio.

    • Peter H. Bloom, Paul Cienniwa, Mary Jane Rupert & Karl played a recital at the First Congregational Church in Woburn, MA. The program included the premieres of The Angel Who Bears a Flaming Sword (for alto flute), Lost Waters, stars & guitars and Radiant Maples; the program featured Blue Shamrock and Fragments of « Morning Has Broken », as well. The concert was a benefit for the Organ Restoration Fund. (24 June 09).

    • Karl played the Irreplaceable Doodles, Opus 89, in Dorchester, MA (19 July 09).

    • Peter H. Bloom, Mary Jane Rupert & Karl played a recital at King's Chapel in Boston. The program included stars & guitars, the premiere of Heedless Watermelon, and Tropes on Parasha's Aria from White Nights. (28 July 09).

    • Peter H. Bloom & Karl played a recital at the West End Branch of the Boston Public Library (151 Cambridge St). The program included Blue Shamrock, The Angel Who Bears a Flaming Sword (for alto flute), Irreplaceable Doodles and the premiere of Heedless Watermelon for flute & clarinet. (29 July 09).

The program included Heedless Watermelon, Irreplaceable Doodles, The Angel Who Bears a Flaming Sword, Lost Waters, Studies in Impermance and Tropes on Parasha’s Aria. (17 September 09).

    • The choir of First Church in Boston (Paul Cienniwa, director) sang Exaltabo te, Deus (11 Oct 09); the performance was broadcast live on WERS 88.9FM (Boston) and with streaming audio.

    • Members of the University of Michigan wind ensemble (Michael Haithcock—music director) performed Out in the Sun. (5 November 09).

    • Nicole Randall-Chamberlain & Karl played a recital at Emory Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. The program included Blue Shamrock, The Angel Who Bears a Flaming Sword (for C flute), Irreplaceable Doodles, Studies in Impermanence, Heedless Watermelon and the premiere of All the Birds in Mondrian’s Cage.
